Here in France the animal rescue charity la SPA has warned that thousands of dogs and cats in France may be euthanised during the Covid-19 confinement period because the rules forbid people from going out to adopt a pet. Jacques-Charles Fombonne, president of the charity is requesting that the confinement “attestation” form – the form required to be filled in each time you leave the house – be amended to allow animal adoptions. He added: “And, if we receive authorisation, I am ready to follow an extremely secure procedure. We could even limit adoptions to one day a week…which would allow the State to control that we are doing things properly, in a secure and safe way. But we need government approval to authorise us to make these adoptions happen.” Full article https://www.connexionfrance.com/French-news/Pets-cats-and-dogs-in-France-risk-euthanasia-due-to-confinement-laws-warns-animal-charity-la-SPA
